Air Berlin reports Dec-08 traffic

In 2008, Air Berlin welcomed a total of 28,559,220 passengers on board, 1% more than in the previous year (2007: 28,272,967). Fleet capacity utilisation over the Jan-08 to Dec-08 period improved to 78.4%.

 

For Dec-08, Air Berlin’s revenue per available seat kilometre ("Yield per ASK") reached EUR5.35 cents, an increase of 17.6% over the corresponding month of the previous year. As a result of a targeted capacity reduction of 6.4%, the number of passengers transported decreased by 5.4% to 1,806,618 passengers. Fleet capacity utilisation increased from 71.5 to 72.3%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points.
