AirTran Airways to launch Fort Lauderdale services
AirTran Airways announced (06-Jan-09) plans to begin flights between Columbus, Ohio, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., effective 05-Mar-09. The carrier will be the only airline to offer nonstop daily service between Port Columbus International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.


Kevin Healy, senior vice president of marketing and planning for AirTran Airways said, “AirTran Airways has seen a lot of success in Columbus since entering the market in November 2008, and we are dedicated to expanding our operations where additional flights are needed. AirTran Airways is committed to providing our customers with high quality service and low fares to the destinations they prefer.”

In addition to the nonstop flights between Columbus and Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Myers, and now Fort Lauderdale, AirTran Airways offers connecting service to more than 40 destinations through Atlanta. The nonstop flights between Columbus and Fort Lauderdale will be available for travel beginning 05-Mar-09. Tickets are available for sale now online.
