Greedy Gordon steals GBP20 million of your money in one week |

Greedy Gordon claims that this will help the environment. This claim is rubbish – every week GBP20 million will simply disappear into his deep pockets. At GBP10 on an average GBP28 Ryanair ticket, ordinary passengers flying with Europe’s greenest and cleanest airline are being taxed at 36% every time they fly. This is just "skyway robbery" and will do NOTHING for the environment.
Calling on Greedy Gordon to come clean, Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Peter Sherrard said:
"Gordon Brown is guilty of using the environment to steal more taxes from ordinary people and in just one week he has already grabbed GBP20 million. Over the coming year he will use this tax hike as an excuse to steal GBP1bn of passengers ’ money.
"If Gordon Brown really did want to do something for the environment he would tackle the main sources of pollution in the UK, namely power generation and road transport which account for 26% and 18% of CO2 emissions. Instead he is guilty of using aviation which accounts for just 2% of CO2 emissions to steal more than £1bn from ordinary people.
"Passengers who are already doing their bit by flying with Ryanair, Europe’s greenest and cleanest airline should not be subjected to this GBP1bn tax heist, particularly while Greedy Gordon is doing nothing to tackle the real polluters. We are again calling on passengers to write to Greedy Gordon Brown to tell him to remove this stupid and ineffective tax at > ".
