Air Berlin appoints new Director Global Traffic Rights & Political Affairs
On 01-Jan-09 Matthias von Randow (49), the former Secretary of State at the Federal Ministry for Transport, Construction and Urban Development, will join Air Berlin as Director Global Traffic Rights & Political Affairs. Joachim Hunold, the airline’s CEO commented, We are pleased to have appointed such an outstanding expert for this responsible task.

 

In his most recent post, Matthias von Randow was responsible for all aspects of transport policy in his capacity as State Secretary. He was in charge of 600 employees in five ministerial sections and responsible for 21,500 civil servants and employees in the federal water management and shipping, air, rail and road departments.

Furthermore, he was a member of the supervisory boards of Deutsche Bahn AG and Fraport AG.

In regard to his move to industry, Matthias von Randow said: "During my ten years of political activity, I always considered mobility to be a prerequisite for the country’s economic success. I am now delighted to be working in a company where mobility is lived and delivered."
