Monarch Airlines introduces new baggage allowance
Monarch Airlines introduced (16-Dec-08) a complimentary hold baggage allowance of 10kgs for infants. Customers booking to travel with infants will receive their standard allowances of 20kgs of hold baggage and 10kgs of hand baggage per person but infants will also now qualify for a 10kg hold baggage allowance.

This can be taken in addition to pushchairs, prams and car seats, which will continue to be carried free of charge.

Commenting on the new policy, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled service division, Liz Savage said, “This will be welcome news for families travelling with young children who often struggle to carry all the essential holiday items for themselves and their infant within their standard baggage allowance.

“As an airline flying to popular holiday destinations in Spain, Portugal and Cyprus we carry many young families on their annual holidays and feel it is important to make their travel experience as seamless as possible. Monarch is committed to providing great customer care and service to all of its passengers and parents can now have peace of mind when travelling that they do not need to sacrifice other items to make way for necessities needed for their infants on holiday.”

Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports.
