Tiger Airways launches free seat sale

In the lead-up to Tiger Airways’ first birthday, the airline has launched (18-Nov-08) a free seat promotion across selected domestic routes from both its Melbourne and Adelaide bases for travel between 01-Feb-09 and 30-Jun-09. This sale began at midnight on 18-Nov-08.
Passengers will only have to pay airport charges and taxes. Shelley Roberts, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Australia said “all of us are getting tired of the endless doom and gloom in the news. To celebrate our birthday we want to give our travellers a fantastic present free seats. You just pay the airport charges, taxes and convenience fee. Your seat is free. Even better is that our sister airline in Asia is joining in the fun with their own free seat promotion to a variety of destinations from Singapore”.
Shelley Roberts added, “Tiger Airways has brought a whole new level of competition to Australia. Our customers are reaping the benefits. In the last year, almost 80% of Tiger Airways fares were sold for less than AUD100. Some people are calling this a ‘price war’. To us it’s in our blood to have consistent low, low fares no matter what our competitors do. Not only does Tiger Airways offer its customers brand new aircraft, the most reliable on-time performance and fabulous crews, we also will not be beaten on price.”
