Jetstar appoints General Manager Sales for longhaul operations
Jetstar announced (05-May-06) the appointment of Jon Marshall as General Manager Sales to help facilitate the launch of proposed long haul international services into South East Asia, Japan and the Pacific in Nov-06

Mr Marshall, previously General Manager Sales for four years at Virgin Blue, will be responsible for developing and maintaining Australian and International Trade Relationships for Jetstar.

Jetstar International will seek to expand distribution channels to include direct connectivity to inventory through new technology, enhanced GDS functionality and new codeshare opportunities. Innovations aimed at increasing booking flexibility for the travel industry include nett fares and seat hold facilities for wholesalers, inventory available through consolidators and BSP settlement for some markets. Jetstar plans to outline the full commercial elements surrounding its long haul international operations, including fare structure, flight schedule and approach to the travel industry in Jun-06.
