Minister welcomes Jetstar's increased services to Perth
Western Australia's Tourism Minister Liz Constable has welcomed (27-Oct-08) announcement by Jetstar to further increase its services to and from Perth. Jetstar has announced an additional daily service between Singapore and Perth, starting on 02-Dec-08.

Dr Constable said, “Since another low-cost carrier, Tiger Airways, began services on that route we have seen a significant increase in visitors and tourism spending from Singapore, our second largest tourism market.”

“Generally, when visitors spend less on airfares, they spend more at their destination during their holiday - bringing in more tourist dollars.”

The Minister said Jetstar’s strong commitment to expand into Western Australia meant the State could remain competitive with other tourism destinations.

She said, “The State Government is keen to continue to work with Jetstar and other airlines to grow services into and within WA. Jetstar is rapidly becoming one of the country’s key low-cost airlines and I congratulate them on their initiative.”
