AirAsia confirmed (18-Mar-06) plans to establish more JV LCCs in Asia, and is targeting Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The expansion forms part of AirAsias plan become an Asia-wide airline.

Meanwhile, the carrier also plans to expand its Thai AirAsia unit, to increase services to China and launch services to India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, but details were not disclosed. The Malaysian-based unit is also considering launching services from Kuala Lumpur to Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Thai AirAsia is also seeking to increase Bangkok-Xiamen frequency from the current four weekly daily to daily.
