Jet2.com announces route expansion for Belfast

Jet2.com announced (01-Oct-08) an expansion of destinations from Belfast International Airport with the addition of two new routes: Dubrovnik in Croatia, effective 02-May-09, and Newquay, effective 24-May-09. Jet2.com stated the new route expansion will create about 50 new aviation-related jobs.
Meanwhile, the carrier also announced plans to suspend Belfast-Barcelona service due to over-capacity on the route.
Jet2.com Chief Executive, Philip Meeson, said “These are exciting times for us and, unlike other airlines which are grounding planes due to hard times, we are expanding our range of destinations and are planning to increase our overall capacity from Northern Ireland.
