Interjet selects CFM56-5Bs for A320s.
Mexico's Interjet announced (03-Feb-06) it selected CFM56-5B engines to power ten firm and ten option A320s scheduled for delivery in 1Q07.
Interjet launched services on 01-Dec-05 with three A320s and currently operates to Cancun, Monterrey, and Guadalajara from its base in Toluca, Mexico. The carrier, owned by Alemán Group (a Mexican conglomerate), plans to add up to ten additional routes in 1Q06 and expects to operate a fleet of up to 30 aircraft within the next five years.
