AirAsia takes delivery of first A320.

AirAsia took delivery (08-Dec-05) of the first of 60 new A320s, marking the beginning of a total fleet renewal programe.

The remaining aircraft, configured with 180 seats and powered by CFM-56-5B engines, will be delivered until 2010. AirAsia is planning to completely replace its fleet of 148-seat B737-300s, including those operated by its Indonesian and Thai JVs. AirAsia has options on an additional 40 A320s.
