The new flights operate two times weekly between Central Nebraska Regional Airport and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas), with service Thursday and Sunday. Flights depart Grand Island at 12:40 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 1:20 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas depart at 7:35 a.m. arriving in Grand Island at 12:00 p.m. (all flight times are local).
Executive Airport Director of Central Nebraska Regional Airport, said, "All of South Central Nebraska is buzzing with excitement knowing they can fly nonstop twice weekly to Las Vegas on Allegiant Air," Mike Olson, "With low airfares and nonstop MD-80, 150 seat aircraft, we have no doubt flights will fill-up fast.”
The carrier will utilise a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route. The airline said its market research and input from local community leaders indicate Grand Island will welcome the new all-jet flights and low fares to Las Vegas.
