The additional flights will add over a quarter of a million additional low fare seats a year between Victoria and Tasmania providing an extra boost to the important Tasmanian tourism industry and cost effective alternative for business travelers with fares starting at just AUD 29.95 one way (inclusive of taxes and charges).
Shelley Roberts, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Australia, said “We have seen Tasmania wholeheartedly embrace Tiger’s low fare revolution. As a result of the great reaction to our product, and the additional brand new planes we are taking delivery of, we are delighted to be adding more flights to our Tasmanian destinations.”
This latest announcement comes as Tiger Airways announced this week increased flights between Melbourne and Perth, Sunshine Coast, Adelaide, Alice Springs as well as announcing yesterday that it will be flying new routes from Adelaide to Hobart, the Gold Coast, Alice Springs and Perth.
Shelley Roberts said, “Our competitors have been frustrated by us keeping our cards close to our chest but it is obvious with these announcements that we walk the walk when it comes to spreading the low fare revolution in Australia. We are focused, we have a proven game plan and we are sticking to it. I can let our competitors know one thing though, which is Tiger hasn’t finished with its growth in Australia by a long shot”.
