Allegiant Air launches service from Grand Island to Las Vegas
Allegiant Air announced it will move its flight operations to Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island, Neb. from the Lincoln Airport in Lincoln, Neb. The Las Vegas-based carrier will inaugurate the new, nonstop flights to Las Vegas from Grand Island 04-Sept-08 with introductory fares as low as USD79* one-way.

 

Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. "We are pleased to bring the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to Grand Island," "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only nonstop jet service between Grand Island and Las Vegas."

The new route will operate two times weekly between Central Nebraska Regional Airport and McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas), with service Thursday and Sunday. Flights will depart Grand Island at 12:40 p.m. arriving in Las Vegas at 1:20 p.m. Flights leaving Las Vegas will depart at 7:35 a.m. arriving in Grand Island at 12 p.m. (all flight times are local). Like its operations in Lincoln, the carrier will utilize a full-size, 150-seat MD-80 jet aircraft on the route.

Mike Olsen, Executive Airport Director for Central Nebraska Regional Airport said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have Allegiant Air bring their low-cost service to Grand Island," "The people from central and western Nebraska will flock to fly nonstop to Las Vegas."
