Jin Air launches maiden flight between Gimpo (Seoul) and Jeju
Various events took place at Gimpo Airport to celebrate the inaugural flight of the new airline pursuing a simple yet sophisticated approach to air travel.
CEO Jae Kun Kim commented, “Jin Air will set the pace for simple, sophisticated yet practical paradigm of air travel services,” “From this first flight, Jin Air will head towards the goal of becoming Asia’s leading premium short-haul carrier, exhibiting world-standard safety and convenience at a reasonable price for the traveling public.”
Gimpo (Seoul) Jeju is Jin Air’s first domestic route. Its operation will expand to Gimpo - Busan and Busan - Jeju routes until next year. The airline will also expand its fleet, currently composed of one Boeing 737-800, to five aircraft including three 737-800s and two Airbus 300-600s.
Jin Air will initiate international operation during the second half of next year, starting with open sky regions in China, Japan and Southeast Asia.
