AirAsia goes daily to Krabi, Palembang, and Banda Aceh
AirAsia increased its frequency from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi (Thailand), Palembang and Banda Aceh (Indonesia), strengthening the carrier's position as the number one low cost carrier in the region.

AirAsia previously offered only 4 weekly flights to Krabi and Palembang and 3 weekly flights to Banda Aceh from Kuala Lumpur. Due to stronger demands encouraging loads in the past, the carrier decided to fulfill the extra demand by adding more flights to these destinations which will commence on 8-Jul-08. As a treat to its guests, flights to Krabi, Palembang and Banda Aceh are offered from as low as RM 3* with the commencement of these daily flights.

AirAsia Regional Head of Commercial, Kathleen Tan said, “AirAsia is the People’s airline and with our low fares, we have assisted to connect a diverse range of purposes from business, holiday makers right to renewing family ties. Currently we are the only airline to offer daily direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Krabi, Palembang and Banda Aceh. We have always championed routes where no other airlines from Malaysia fly to, particularly these 3 untapped routes above. We have also managed to open up new markets and stimulate new demands with our revolutionary low fare. Guests flying from these destinations could also use Kuala Lumpur as gateway to South East Asia and fly to over 102 routes which AirAsia flies to.”

Palembang, situated at South Sumatra, Indonesia, is well known for their historical offering which is a great place to go for history buffs. Or visit Pasar 16 Ilir, a floating market and multi-storied bazaar, where visitors could buy traditional Palembang songket, a 'must buy' item when one gets to Palembang.

Banda Aceh, is an unexplored haven of Asia, it is a place where everyone can fulfill what their heart desires, be it adventure or enjoy a laid back holiday close to nature. For diving enthusiasts, Banda Aceh is the exact destination to go for as Pulau Weh, a popular diving haven is just an-hour-boat-ride away.
