WestJet expands international network with two new destinations
WestJet is expanding its international network with the introduction of seasonal non-stop service to two new international destinations in the Caribbean: Bridgetown, Barbados and La Romana, Dominican Republic. These new destinations are part of WestJet's expanded Winter schedule, which will also include new service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, from various cities across Canada. WestJet will announce schedule details for the new Mexican destinations shortly.

 

WestJet also announced increased frequencies from Toronto to Jamaica, St Lucia and the Dominican Republic.

WestJet is also introducing service to Kamloops from Calgary, effective 03-Nov-08, and adding a new non-stop route between Calgary and Grande Prairie, effective 02-Nov-08.

These announcements will bring WestJet's existing scheduled destinations to 49. By 2013, WestJet will operate to over 65 scheduled destinations.

One-way fares to LaRomana, at the introductory rate of USD199 plus taxes, fees and fuel surcharge, are on sale between 25-Jun-08 and 09-Jul-08, for travel between 03-Nov-08 and 16-Dec-08.

Meanwhile, WestJet will also increase the frequency on its existing network. Enhanced Winter routes include:

  • Toronto - Montego Bay;
  • Toronto - Punta Cana;
  • Toronto - Puerto Plata;
  • Toronto - St. Lucia;
  • Toronto - Quebec City;
  • Vancouver - Las Vegas;
  • Calgary - Las Vegas;
  • Victoria - Las Vegas; and
  • Saskatoon - Las Vegas.
