Lion Air purchases 30 additional B737s.

Lion Air, an Indonesian LCC, exercised (17-Jul-06) purchase rights for 30 additional B737-900ERs for delivery between 2010 and 2012, taking its total order to 60.
The aircraft will be powered by CFM56-7Bs. The initial order was placed in Jul-05 scheduled for delivery from 1Q07. Lion Airs fleet will increase from 38 aircraft currently to 44 by the end of 2007. Up to eight B737-900s will be delivered in 1Q07. Meanwhile, the carrier announced (19-Jul-06) it is considering issuing bonds to finance the purchase.
