WestJet comments on Canadian Government’s designation for Mexico
WestJet commented on the federal government's granting of designation for WestJet to provide increased scheduled service to Mexico. Sean Durfy, WestJet President and Chief Executive Officer, said these designations are a continuing expression of the government's confidence in WestJet to provide Canadians with high-value, low-cost travel, This announcement today is another step forward in our strategic plan, which includes significant international expansion.

 

Included in this announcement are designations that apply immediately and some that apply in Dec-09. As WestJet's fleet continues to expand, the airline remains well positioned to serve these destinations on a scheduled basis.

Specific information regarding dates and fares will be available in the coming weeks.

WestJet received the following designations effective immediately:

  • Vancouver-Mazatlan;
  • Calgary-Puerto Vallarta;
  • Edmonton-Cancun;
  • Edmonton-Puerto Vallarta;
  • Winnipeg-Mazatlan;
  • Winnipeg-Puerto Vallarta;
  • Halifax-Cancun.


WestJet received the following designations effective Dec-09:

  • Vancouver-Cancun;
  • Vancouver-Puerto Vallarta;
  • Calgary-Cancun;
  • Winnipeg-Cancun;
  • Toronto-Cancun;
  • Toronto-Puerto Vallarta;
  • Montreal-Cancun.
