Air one transports three million passengers since the beginning of 2008
Air One announced it has reached a level of three million passengers carried since the beginning of 2008 on scheduled flights, 15.6% more than the same period last year. In 2007, the airline carried more than 7.5 million passengers; in 2006 the number was 6.3 million and in 2005 5.5 million.

 

Meanwhile, continuing with its development and growth plans, Air One recently signed an important strategic agreement with Airbus. The Company has confirmed purchase orders for 90 A320s, of which 16 have already been delivered and are operative; the remaining aircraft are on a one per month delivery schedule. Furthermore, ten new 90 seat Bombardier CRJ900’s were delivered in 2007 for use on its regional routes, while the new intercontinental flights will be operated from Milan-Malpensa to Boston and Chicago with new Airbus A330-200s. By the end of the year the fleet will be made up of 60 aircraft.

The airline will operates to 21 domestic, 18 international and 2 intercontinental destinations commencing in mid-Jun-08, to which also those flights flown in codeshare to other international destinations are to be added.
