Frontier establishes Delaware holding company.
Frontier Airlines announced (27-Mar-06) it received shareholder approval for plans to establish a holding company in the State of Delaware.
The move makes it easier for the carrier to acquire assets, create independent subsidiaries and access different types of financing.
Under the plan, Frontier Airlines Inc, a Colorado corporation, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc, a Delaware-registered corporation. The current shareholders of Frontier Airlines will become shareholders of Frontier Airlines Holdings with the same number and percentage of shares.
Joe Hodas, Frontier spokesman, stated The key word in this whole process is flexibility. At the end of days we need the flexibility to respond to opportunities in this volatile industry. This means we have some of the ground work out of the way so we can do that easily and quickly,
